Your car from Germany, on your island

Bringing a car to the Balearics has one leg the mainland does not: the ferry. This is how it works and what changes island by island.

Two legs

By road from the official dealer in Germany to a mainland port, and by sea to the island. There are regular sailings from three ports:

Departure portArrivals in the Balearics
BarcelonaPalma, Alcúdia, Ibiza, Maó and Ciutadella
ValenciaPalma, Ibiza and Maó
DéniaPalma and Ibiza

They are run by operators such as Baleària, Trasmed (Grimaldi group) and GNV. Formentera is reached via Ibiza: ferries carrying vehicles run from Ibiza port to La Savina.

What changes island by island

The registration process is the same everywhere, but the import inspection station, the traffic office and the access rules are not.

Summer in Ibiza and Formentera

From 1 June to 30 September, Ibiza and Formentera limit how many vehicles may enter the island. In Ibiza, goods-transport vehicles do not need that authorisation; in Formentera they do not pay the fee. If your delivery falls in those months, we plan it accordingly.

How you pay

We are intermediaries: you pay each party directly — the car to the official dealer, the transport to the haulier, the registration to the agency — and we give you each contact and coordinate everything. The price we quote already includes all of it, including our service. Usually around 10 days from payment to delivery. See our terms of service.

Questions people ask

How does a car get from Germany to an island?

By road to a mainland port and then by sea. Barcelona, Valencia and Dénia all have regular sailings to Palma, Alcúdia, Ibiza, Maó and Ciutadella.

Do I have to collect it at the port?

No. We coordinate transport from end to end and deliver the car on your island.

Is transport extra?

No. The price we quote for each car already includes transport to your island, the inspection, the registration and our service. Registration tax and local road tax are separate.

What about the summer restrictions in Ibiza and Formentera?

From 1 June to 30 September both islands limit how many vehicles may enter. In Ibiza, goods-transport vehicles do not need that authorisation; in Formentera they do not pay the fee. We plan the delivery with that in mind.
